Village To Village Sponsored Cycle & Walk

Village-to-Village: Changing Africa

On Sunday 25th October 2009 the S M Cycling Group will be hosting a sponsored cycle and walk in aid of the Village To Village charity which supports local initiatives in Rural Africa. It is hoped that about 20 people will take part and help us to raise funds and awarness. People taking part will have the option to cycle from Peterculter to the Aberdeen Duthie Park and back or Walk from Peterculter to the Aberdeen Duthie Park and back all along the Old Deeside Line. This event is open to all ages and we hope you will be able to join us for a fun and worthwhile cause!

 

Success for BIG Summer Cycle!

On Monday 17th August 2009 the S M Cycling Group cycled an amazing 36 Miles from the Banchory Park to the Aberdeen Duthie Park and back again in aid of Alzheimer Scotland.

The day was a big success with great weather, a good turnout, and a fantastic BBQ afterwards which was very kindly held by John Johnstone. We were also broadcast throughout Aberdeen through a live telephone interview on SHMU Radio (99.8fm).

We are not sure how much money has been raised yet but we do know that we have exceeded our target of £1,000. We will be able to provide a final figure on Sunday 6th September 2009.

Overall the day was a massive success and we are all looking forward to the challenge of next year.

GALA DAY SUCCESS!!!

On Saturday 30th May the S M Cycling Group (SMCG) held a stall at the Culter Gala in order to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer Scotland. The day was a big success with a sell out of home bakes which led to £150.00 being raised for Alzheimer Scotland.

Many thanks to Julie Milne and John Johnstone for running the stall.
